In some flexible battery circuits, some FPC suppliers use rigid components made of aluminum or stainless steel，it provides dimensional stability, physical support for the placement of components and conductors, and stress relief.Another material sometimes used in battery FPC that is the adhesive layer, which is formed by coating the sides of the insulating film with an adhesive.Bonded laminates provide environmental protection and electronic insulation, as well as the ability to eliminate a thin film as well as the ability to have fewer layers bonded. There are many types of insulating film materials, but the most commonly used are polythimines and polyesters.
At present, nearly 80% of the FPC suppliar use polyimide film material, and about 20% use polyester film material.Polyimide materials are non-flammable, geometrically stable, have high tensile strength, and have the ability to withstand welding temperatures. Polyesters, also known as polyethylene dibenzodiformates, have physical properties similar to polyimides, have lower dielectric constants, absorb little moisture, but are not resistant to high temperatures.
